Beloved Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, according to reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, depicting a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
