Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Premiership title holders following the former manager's resignation on the start of the week.

The Manager's Stance on The Scottish Club

McKenna described Celtic as "a really big football club" but stressed he is "deeply involved" of a "long-term project" with Ipswich Town.

The mid-thirties took charge of Ipswich in 2021 and led them to the Premier League with consecutive elevations, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the second division and they presently occupy twelfth place in England's second tier.

"I have not had such conversations," the London-born ex- Northern Ireland youth international said when questioned about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any part of my concentration is currently.

"I possess a special job here at a remarkable team. And we're at a really important stage of the season. Everything outside of that hasn't reached my awareness."

Background and Agreement Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to Celtic given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about these. "I don't think all people has to publicly and declare what they used to be, but of course it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna agreed to a new multi-year deal in last year and was asked about his reported buyout clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he replied. "I'm unaware what mine are and, were I informed, I wouldn't disclose you anyway!

"I approach this job like I'll be Town's coach forever. I know that's not always going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as while I remain in position."

Bellamy's Position

Bellamy played for the Hoops on temporary transfer from the Magpies in the mid-2000s, but the ex- Welsh forward is minded to complete the ongoing global tournament campaign, a position that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from immediately taking the Celtic job.

The Welsh squad are currently in third place in their World Cup group behind leaders the Red Devils and second-placed Macedonia.

Wins over the minnows and North Macedonia in November would secure their position in the qualification play-offs, but they are virtually guaranteed of reaching that stage, due to a successful European competition campaign, even if they not finish as their group runners-up.

Given his present position, Bellamy, whose agreement concludes after the European Championship, would be unavailable until following the play-offs at the earliest.
