The Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Astrological Sign

This return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the community. From the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions before the game's release, to trainers forming strong opinions on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.

Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive appearances that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: How can connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for Aries, as they are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being playful, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why Aries much more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of either and enjoy a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.

Taurus – Super Heracross

Similar to a loyal Bull, the steadfast Heracross, whether in its standard and Super Form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, each the Pokémon and a Taurus are still Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unabashed love of treats. Several previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for tasty tree sap and how it uses its horn to collect it all, which is true Taurus energy.

Gemini – Mega Medicham

Look at this total queen. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless stream of gossip to anyone who wish to hear. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham captivating an entire open area with their stories. Medicham’s official description also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite similar to a socially-savvy Gemini.

Cancer – Super Manectric

The Crab is commonly regarded as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a intense sign known for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. It is also recognized for its ability to create a storm cloud over its own self – and if there’s one thing a Crab is going to do, it’s rain on their good time.

The Lion – Mega Starmie

Well, did you assume I was planning to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the stars? Aside from the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is obviously Super Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your preference). Players were captivated from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Lion to be putting on a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Mega Victreebel

The always-ready and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual digestive issues. The sign famous for being charmingly judgmental is strongly reflected across this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you inform them you don’t have a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than making a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Look at this gentle, empathetic creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Libras who would probably appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to stress more about everyone else.

Scorpio – Super Banette

Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it became consciousness through pure hatred and swore revenge on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Each Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a show. Being a Sagittarius personally, the number of times I’ve called myself some version of a “silly small jester” is innumerable. The showiest and most obnoxious Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.

The Goat – Mega Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the ability to predict calamities ahead of time? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently believe they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to join the ground floor of the Mega trend.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure

Aloof air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-flame sign that is most like a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall daunting aura is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s description says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
